Carmina, an artist painter, was bornon July 25, 1940 in Montauban.Catalonian from Barcelona anddaughter of refugees, she has followeda personal vision of art all of her life, with intense periods in 1980 and 1990,a time when she began to be knownin a world of upheaval and changes.
Her inspiration ranges from poetic periods to themes of fascination, which currently characterize the third millennium, an avant-gardist, universal and timeless symbol.
The artist has her studio in Soler, and shows her work from April to September in her gallery in Collioure, 11 rue Saint Vincent where she meets with collectors. She has shown in Japan, Barcelona, California, New Caledonia and throughout France.
In the year 2000, a new millennium and fabulous change of century combined with humanity’s progress inspired a creative desire in the artist. She gives life to hidden analogies, beings from the dawn of time give structure to her canvases, colours blend, and with her brush, she attempts to overcome the power of reason and express things that she knows but cannot explain. From Corridas to still lifes: hypnotic reds, flamboyant oranges, tawny ochres, straw-coloured yellows and immaculate whites follow one another and finally embrace to express the passionate feelings of their creator, forever steeped in Mediterranean sensuality.
Carmina is internationally famous (Japan, American and many European countries) and she continues to fascinate collectors by her creativity and the light that seems to emanate from her works. She never stops…
- “This is my writing, she says; everyday is a new adventure. I give back the gifts that I have received by immersing myself in my passion, the beauty of the world, the intelligence that helps us survive, the joy of living the moment of a new creation.”
